Hi! I'm Suzanne Reilley. I'm a Virtual Fitness and Lifestyle Coach.
Back in 2008 I was working as a personal trainer in a gym. My clients were doing great, and my peers respected me professionally. Yet in a way I felt really... restricted.
At first, I felt it at an almost imperceptible underlying level. The feeling crept up slowly and I think it had to do with a number of things. I felt that as a professional, I had to be training clients in a traditional sense, in a gym, doing lunges, squats, ab exercises... all the normal stuff you might think of when it comes to getting fit.
I was really careful to stick to conversations about exercise and food, which is what my clients hired me for. Even though I KNEW that going deeper into their emotional life, relationships and lifestyle would make a difference in their results, I simply didn't think it was appropriate to ask.
Over the course of many years, I learned that I was really onto something by incorporating my own whole life into my fitness goals. I started eating food that I actually enjoyed. I started doing activities that I loved. I moved to a city I always wanted to live in, that had lots of sunshine and warm weather. I got more sleep.
It became effortless to be fit, to live at MY own ideal weight by meshing my desires, my joy and sound exercise principles into one. I also cut myself a LOT of mental slack. Turns out, this process doesn't have to be so hard.
The happier I was, the easier it became. It's amazing how much fitter I got once I stepped outside the gym, chilled out, listened to my own preferences and had fun with it. Of course I incorporated exercise principles. But I made them work for me. Made them bend to my own likes and dislikes and incorporated them with me as a WHOLE person in mind.
I learned that I can do sound professional work AND make my own rules with what I offer. My current clients get to share any relevant details that they want. They incorporate any likes, dislikes and desires that they want. My clients got great results before, and they get even better results now.
They get such great results because I work WITH each part of each person, instead of against them. You're not going to be put into some cookie cutter regime that you can't stick with or a diet that feels horrible. That's just not me and honestly, it doesn't work.
Even back in the day, my most successful clients, Kim who lost 101lbs and Nathan who lost 70lbs both respectfully incorporated cheesecake, steak and fried chicken into their eating habits. And guess what? As of the time I'm writing this, it's 6 years later and they're both still rocking their weight loss success. Because there's no regimen to recover from. No sucky period of deprivation. Simply small, moderate changes that created big, lasting results.
One of my clients started taking pole dancing classes. She always wanted to try this and she's having SO much fun! She's loving the moves and her new shoes and her new friends from class. The classes are crazy effective for burning fat (I can tell you more about why some other time). She only has to go twice a week to see incredible results. She began to feel so much lighter, just as a person, only 2 weeks in.
We also realized that her packaged food habits could be freshened a bit (a BIT! ...we did NOT clean out the cabinets or anything crazy like that). 2 weeks of incorporating a few fresh, organic foods that she chose from the grocery store and her severe acid reflux cleared up.
Another client of mine has a big family. After we discussed the details of her lifestyle and her preferences, we curated a really doable plan. First, she breathed a HUGE sigh of relief. (It's a lot easier than she thought it was going to be). In practice, she's modeling healthier behaviors for her kids that they're naturally picking up on, she's strengthening her oldest son's leadership skills by putting him in charge during "mommy's uninterrupted exercise time."
He knows not to interrupt and exactly under which circumstances TO interrupt. She's majorly curbing her overeating. She's exercising a LOT less than she thought she had to, because we tailored her exercise plan in a way that's highly effective (nope, you do NOT have to work out every day. I actually have no idea where this 'little bit every day' idea came about. Unless you're truly enjoying it, it's SO not necessary ...and who's got time for that? ok rant over, ha!)
Anywho, this client is getting SO many benefits from the 2 hour session we did together, they're actually too many to list here. What's great is that they're all benefits that she let me know were really important to her.
That's my goal, to help you get as many benefits and side benefits out of our time together as possible. Have as much fun as possible, and OH! live into your sexiest, best self in the process.

The clients who come to our sessions prepared, ready and committed to see lasting change generally see an average weight loss of 1-2lbs per week. This IS the professionally recommended rate of weight loss, for safety, lifestyle integration and lasting change.
(It may sound boring. It feels boring even to write. 1-2lbs, woo-hoo. It's much slower than many other pros will promise you, but you gotta ask yourself, did that radical 7 day or 15 day or 30 day diet or cleanse or program really work for the long term? If so, I'm truly happy for you. If not, let's talk).
If you can accept where you are, trust in the process and have fun along the way, it won't be terrible to lose 12-24 pounds at the end of 3 months. At the higher end of that 1-2lb range, you could lose 24-48lbs at the end of 6 months, if you have that much to shed.
Kim Levine lost 101lbs over the course of 2 years. 6 years later, she's still living at a healthy weight. Incorporating cheesecake and steak into the mix.

Nathan Weiner lost 70lbs over the course of 4 years. He seems to be fitter and happier on Facebook every time I see him pop up in my newsfeed. As far as I know, he still respectfully incorporates ice cream and fried chicken into his diet.
Here's a Q&A with Nathan that I'd like to share. We had this email chat a while after we ended our work together.
Q: How much weight did you lose during our time together?
A: In our time together, over 6 months, I lost about 30 pounds. I started at around 235 pounds.
Q: How much weight did you lose from the day we started together until now? The commitment on your part was HUGE, as well as your follow up to find other trainers you wanted to try, your commitment to getting more cut, lifting heavier, changing up your routine... so what was your overall weight loss success?
A: In total, I lost about 70 pounds. The weight loss occurred slowly over 4 years. I insisted on NOT dieting, but rather changing the bad habits that I inherited from my family. I still have my struggles with food, mostly around knowing when to stop when food is served family style. Otherwise, I have changed my diet, continue to exercise about 4 times a week, completed the Tough Mudder, bought and use a road bike and have completely changed.

DailyCandy featured me when they were at the top of their game and also nominated me for DailyCandy's Sweetest Things award that same year. Unfortunately, the company doesn't exist anymore!
